I was born in New Jersey. Spent my summers at a lake house where by 6 months old I had become a water rat, impatient to get out of my life preserver. My parents accused me of wasting their money on swimming lessons because I spent all my time under water. I loved the feeling of weightlessness the water gave me. I started coaching at 12 because I had swum AAU in the winter and had more experience than any one on the team. I swam in high school and college Division 3.
In Colorado, I started coaching summer league in 1988. Progressed to year round club and high school swimming in the 1990’s. Currently, besides Westminster HS, I coach the 11-12 age group for the Louisville Dolphins summer swim team. Over the years, I have had a number of kids swim Division 1 in college on scholarships and 3 swimmer qualify for Olympic Trials, no Olympians yet. I take pride in teaching novice swimmers to progress to greater achievements.
