The fall season has come and gone but there are several Wolves still collecting awards from an outstanding season. We had 3 players who received All-State selections and we couldn't be more proud of them.
In only her sophomore year Jarely Sanchez-Castillo was recognized as an honorable mention all-state selection. Mason Kiewiet in only his junior year was also recognized as an honorable mention all-state selection. And Hunter Emgarten was selected 2
nd Team All-State. In addition to this incredible honor both Mason and Hunter were selected to the play makers corner ALL-PMC team. Here is a quote about their selection process.
"Over the course of the season, we monitor players from all five 11-man classifications for our end of season awards. Our main qualification is that they must play at least 7 games in the regular season. We go off of the impact to their team, how they stack up to their peers, and head-to-head matchups. In particular, Mason was an MVP Finalist because of what he did to turn around from a 1-9 season and it felt like he gave the team direction. This, along with his consistent play both through the air and on the ground made him a no-brainer for our All-PMC (what we call All-State) team. Our All-PMC team, unlike CHSAA’s has strict position limits, so Mason was one of two QBs selected, along with Austyn Modrzewski from Mountain Vista. Hunter was one of three receivers selected, along with Solomon Latimer from Doherty and Jackson Hansen from Ralston Valley. Hunter was one of the top receivers in 5A all season, and deserves almost as large a share of the credit to the season’s success as Mason does. The Wolves were one of the top offenses in the state, so having the #1 and #2 offensive weapons honored made perfect sense to us."
